Haverhill HD5020E IntroductionHaverhill HD5020E 50-Pint Dehumidifier Review

Haverhill HD5020E 50-Pint Dehumidifier is great quality device and will work fabulously in moist places up to 800 square feet big. This unit has smooth electronic controls, 3 fan speeds and a lot of awesome features.

Design and Size

Haverhill HD5020E 50-Pint Dehumidifier is quite heavy, the weight is 47.4 pounds (21.5kg). But it has carrying handle and casters for easy movement. Size is not very large. Height is 24 inches (61 cm), width 15 inches (38 cm), and depth 11 inches (28 cm).

On the top of the dehumidifier are handle and the control panel. Controls are easily understandable – each button has a name on it. In front of the unit are indicator light and water bucket. Water container can keep 16 pints (7.6 liters) of water. Not very big for a 50-pint dehumidifier but the unit is continuous drain capable. In the back of the dehumidifier are a washable air filter and power plug. From one side is air outlet grille, from other, is an outlet for the drain hose.

FeaturesHaverhill HD5020E 50-Pint Dehumidifier Review

  • Haverhill HD5020E 50-Pint Dehumidifier has a lot of features.
  • One of many is bucket full indicator light which will brighten when the water container is full, removed or not connected correctly. Together with the light also comes sound for about 10 seconds.
  • Another great feature is auto shut off function. The dehumidifier will shut off if the water container is full, removed, or not connected accurately.
  • Auto defrost feature will cycle off the compressor when frost grows up on the evaporator coils and the fan will resume running till the frost disappears.
  • The timer on/off. Set the device to turn on or off between time range 0.5 hours to 24 hours. Great feature to save energy.
  • Auto restart due to power failure.
  • Adjustable humidistat will coordinate fancied humidity between 35% to 80%.
  • Haverhill HD5020E has a filter life monitor. It will show you when the filter must be cleaned.
  • The dehumidifier has 4 operating modes. Continuous mode if you want it to work nonstop. Or 3 targeted operation modes choosing between 3 fan speeds. 1st for sleeping space, 2nd for living space and 3rd for the basement.
  • The drain hose is not included but you can attach Haverhill HD5020E to any standard garden pipe to the drain port to install up endless gravity drainage. Also possible to add an external condensate pump.

Noise level

Haverhill HD5020E 50-Pint Dehumidifier has a quiet operation. The unit is quiet when running on the low and medium speeds. On max speed, noise is 53dB.

Maintenance and upkeep

Before each operation check if the water container is placed correctly. Also, close the doors and windows so the dehumidifier will be more effective. For optimal air flow allow at least 18 inches of reservation on all sides of the dehumidifier.

If you are going to use only water bucket, then you will have to empty it few times a day. Could be quite annoying so I prefer you to use continuous draining.

The air intake and outlet grilles get dirtied quickly so you will have to clean them often. Every few weeks clean water bucket. Do not use a dishwasher. The air filter should be inspected and cleaned every 250 hours.

Summary

The Haverhill HD5020E 50-Pint Dehumidifier is a great choice. The unit is an affordable, effective, practical and user-friendly approach holding problem moisture in your house under control.

My name is Ryan. I have had a hard time dealing with my allergies. Happily, I found that an air purifier was effective to ease my allergy symptoms. I spent a lot of time researching the best air purifier. I know how hard it can be to find the suitable one.

During the reading period, I also read a lot about humidifiers and dehumidifiers. I learned the mechanisms behind the technologies as well as the manufacturers and organizations within the industry.

I now feel convinced that I have built a guide that shows you all you need to know about air purifiers, humidifiers, and dehumidifiers. So I came up with the idea of creating this website.
